Keep enclosure bacteria free  that good for duck health. Frequently duck freely move in garden and backyard   not need proper home in daytime but night is for rest so provide comfortable enclosure for nights.  Also consider cage temperature in winter.  In cold and chilly season they have to need warmth space.

It swell pads and very painful of ducks as it difficult for them to stand. So regularly clean duck enclosure and other ornament plate inside it like foot dish and water bowl.

Give Healthy Food to Your Duck:

Mostly is considered that duck feed on bread it not truth they have to need balanced nutrition and health diet. Ducks like slugs and insects yet sometime you look them nibbling at plants. Provide balanced diet which consist on insects, wheat, maize, and bread and soya bean oil. If you want to give more healther food then provide meat and pellets. Don’t rely on feeding ducks only on bread and scraps as it’s not cover their nutrition.

Ducks also need clean water for swimming. These birds enjoy long time swimming that good for both physical and mental growth. Water is necessary ducks as it help them to maintain their waterproofing. Clean water in suitable temperature is best for ducks. Cool water in summer and warmth water in winter season prevent them from drowning. Artificial lake or pool is excellent habitation but if you do not have enough space or budget then   keep kiddies pool  that provide easy access to your  duck.

Duck are social bird live happy in groups. Single pet is good but need more attention and care. If you have enough space and opportunities then its awesome idea to bring two or more ducks but not overloaded.

Duck are generally robust and healthier animal rarely suffer from worms or other mites if they regularly swim yet it better to wormed them after 6 month from related vet or poultry wormer.  Take care of them as dusks tripping over thing which causes of injuries either minor or major.  Clean out their enclosure regularly otherwise it develops bumblefoot.
