The Dogue de Bordeaux is French breed and very powerful with muscular body. This breed has been used for different activity like heavy load, pulling cart, guarding. What its history, appearance, nature, and how physically effect learn from below.
History:
The Dogue de Bordeaux originate from France in fourteenth century. Southern France selects the name of dog due to its large body size. Black masks on dog body consider the indication of cross blooding of the English mastiff. Two different varieties of dog was well know first is dogues and last one doguins. Dogue consider larger as compare to doguins that just mention in history and no longer exist.
It’s said that Dogue accomplished in background of bullmastiff. The ancestral Dogue de Bordeaux had white marks that finished at up the legs. In some region dog the dog had big head, large body, cropped ear and red brow mask.
Appearance:
The Dogue de Bordeaux has powerful and muscular body. The Dogue boy size is mostly width rather than height. The breed body is thick set, rounded and slightly dips. The Dogue front legs are straight and heavy bone while feet look like cat. The straight tail is pointed from end and not lowers. With drop ear and massive head dog is naturally complete.
The upper lip of dog is thickly down, loose nose red or white skin. The coat of the Dogue soft and fine with variety of shad include copper red, brownish red, black, and brown. White marking is note down on tips of the toe, chest, and any other part of the body.
Weight:
The standard breed of female Dogue weight is 45 kg and 50 kg for male.
Height:
The desirable range of height should be between 24 to 27 inches and for male dog 23 to 26.
Life Span:
The Dogue de Bordeaux larger breed of dog life span is still shorter. According to American society the average lifespan of dog is 5 to 6 years.
Temperament:
The Dogue de Bordeaux is extremely loyal, calm, and good for family. Its first class watch and guard dog due to fearless and strange ability. This breed lives well with other animal but in early age become aggressive with other dog. Enjoy Dogue is not possible for inexperience owner so first train your dog that learn to live with human. Living Condition:
This breed of dog is good for apartment life but need to give daily exercise like long walk. Indoor place Dogue are inactive so not need to arrange a yard. If your dog mentally and physical inactive then behaviors problem will create.
Health:
Because the dog has massive head so it effected by breathe problem. The FCI consider that shortness of the breath and raspy in this breed of dog result fault. The Dogue lower eyelids that are roll can cause of bacterial infection. Aortic stenosis is a disease that symptoms include shorter exercise.
Another heart problem in Dogue comes when heart weak and cannot pump the blood circulation effectively. Some effected dog die without showing any sign and some with heart problem. an estimate show that 5% dogs effect by thickness of footpad and nose and other 50% by hip dysplasia.
